Richard Sadler and his wife Louisa were at the address on the card in 1911. That census revealed that they had 12 children – although none were there at the time of the census. They had married in 1863 and Richard was a stonemason. At least two of their sons became carpenters and two daughters, teachers. Louisa’s father, was likely to be Edwin Pearce, a carpenter.
None of Richard and Louisa’s daughters had a name that might
be broken down to Sadie – but Thirza, who was born in 1872, is a possibility. She
married in 1911 – a few months after the postcard was sent.
